Antonio proposes to Jaylyn at Washington’s Landing in Pittsburgh beside the river after weeks of planning on a cloudy afternoon.

Pittsburgh Proposal at Washington’s Landing: Jaylyn & Antonio

I. The Rose That Started Everything

Jaylyn came to Pittsburgh from outside Philadelphia to attend nursing school. Antonio was already here, living his life in the city they would eventually share together. In 2022, the two connected on Hinge after Antonio sent Jaylyn a rose. That small gesture turned into a conversation, and before long, the two were inseparable.

Some relationships take time to settle in. Theirs felt natural from the beginning.

Along the way, they added Leo, their goldendoodle, to the family. Anyone who knows them knows Leo is part of everything. He is spoiled, loved deeply, and very much the center of their world.

As their relationship continued to grow, Antonio knew he wanted to take the next step. During our first phone consultation, he explained how important it was for the proposal to feel meaningful and personal. He did not want something rushed or overdone. He wanted a moment that felt true to them.

So for weeks, Antonio planned every detail.

II. Searching for the Right Place

For weeks, Antonio searched all over Pittsburgh for the perfect location. He looked online, walked different trails, visited parks, and explored the city looking for somewhere that felt right. Eventually, he found it at Washington’s Landing along Herrs Island and the River Trail.

Quiet water. Open space. A calm part of the city that somehow feels hidden in plain sight.

That was the place.

On the morning of the proposal, clouds covered Pittsburgh. Antonio paced around a bit that morning, watching the sky and wondering if rain was on the way. Still, he kept moving forward with the plan, umbrella in hand just in case the weather turned.

Once they parked at Washington Landing, they walked across the bridge.

As Jaylyn noticed the flowers ahead, she looked over and asked, “What’s going on?”

Antonio held her hand tightly and guided her forward.

Then he dropped to one knee.

And in that moment, everything changed.
