Frick Park Engagement: Courtney and Kevin

Courtney & Kevin’s Fun & Lively Engagement Session

There’s something truly special about photographing friends, and today was one of those moments that reminded me why I love what I do. Courtney and Kevin’s engagement session in Regent Square and Frick Park wasn’t just about taking beautiful photos—it was about capturing their love, laughter, and the easy way they fit together.

From the moment we met up, I knew this session was going to be a blast. Kevin’s hilarious personality had us all cracking up, and it didn’t take long to see exactly why Courtney fell for him. Their carefree energy and genuine connection made every moment feel natural—no awkward posing, no forced smiles, just two people completely at ease with one another.

From Friendship to Engagement Photography

Courtney and I met through work, and over the past year, I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Kevin as well. So when they asked me to be their engagement photographer, I was beyond honored. There’s something extra special about documenting a love story when you know the couple personally—it makes the session feel even more meaningful.

And of course, we couldn’t forget their adorable German Shepherd, Piper! I actually took pictures of Piper when he was just a puppy, so seeing him all grown up (and still full of energy) was a full-circle moment. Much like Piper, Courtney and Kevin’s relationship has grown beautifully over the years—from puppy love to a lifetime commitment.

A Relaxed Engagement Session in Regent Square & Frick Park

For their Pittsburgh engagement session, Courtney and Kevin wanted a location that felt natural and relaxed. We started in Regent Square, where the charming streets and urban character gave us a cozy, hometown feel. Then we made our way to Frick Park, one of my favorite places for candid, nature-inspired engagement photos.

Walking along the park’s scenic trails, I could see how comfortable these two are together. No forced moments—just laughter, playful banter, and Kevin’s endless jokes that had Courtney smiling the entire time. They bring out the best in each other, and that’s exactly what I aimed to capture in their photos.

What Makes a Great Engagement Session?

Every couple has a unique dynamic, and the best engagement photos come from real moments, not stiff poses. What made Courtney and Kevin’s session stand out was:

✔ Their effortless connection – You can’t fake the kind of chemistry these two have.
✔ The fun, easygoing energy – Kevin kept everyone laughing, making for the most natural photos.
✔ Including Piper – Bringing a pet into an engagement session always adds a personal touch.
✔ A meaningful location – Regent Square and Frick Park reflect their love for both city life and nature.

Engagement sessions should be stress-free, fun, and true to who you are as a couple—and that’s exactly what this one was.

Counting Down to the Big Day

As we wrapped up the session, I couldn’t help but feel excited for Courtney and Kevin’s wedding in September. If their engagement session was any indication, their wedding day is going to be full of love, laughter, and unforgettable moments.

I’m incredibly happy for these two and honored to be the one capturing this chapter of their love story. See you in September, Courtney and Kevin—it’s going to be amazing!
